Kathy is the Associate Director of Duke Service-Learning where she supports engaged programming and faculty teaching service-learning and community engaged courses. In her former role as Senior Fellow for Civic Engagement, she directed the NC LiteracyCorps, a statewide program placing AmeriCorps members in capacity-building roles across the state. Formerly Senior Assistant Director for Student Programs and Outreach at DukeEngage, Kathy brings a deep commitment to the practices that result in both student learning and community benefit. Prior to DukeEngage, Kathy was a faculty member in the Program in Education, the administrative director for the International Center for Service-Learning in Teacher Education (ICSLTE), the executive director for the Student Coalition for Action in Literacy Education (SCALE) at UNC-CH, and the education director for the Durham Literacy Center.
