Dr. Mark Anthony D. Abenir is a dedicated practitioner-scholar committed to using service-learning as a research and pedagogical approach in his courses on Community Development and Social Change, Project Management, and The Economy, Society, and Sustainable Development. He is a Section Co-Editor of the International Journal of Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement and serves as the official representative of Ateneo de Manila University in the global University Social Responsibility Network (USRN). Previously, Dr. Abenir served as the Director of the Simbahayan Community Development Office at the University of Santo Tomas from 2015 until 2019, where he supervised the CWTS and LTS components of UST. His expertise lies in the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of community, social welfare, and poverty reduction/eradication programs that are participatory, people-centered, gender-sensitive, and rights-based.
