Matias G. Flores. Chilean sociologist and MS in Development Sociology. He is currently a Ph.D. student in Development Sociology in the Department of Global Development at Cornell University. His research focuses on the history and sociology of community engagement in Chile and Latin America. He started practicing community engagement as an undergraduate student in the context of the Chilean student movement in 2011 and after graduating worked in the Vice Provost Office of Community Engagement and Communications at Universidad de Chile until 2020. He co-founded the Grupo de Estudios en Vinculación con el Medio y Extensión Universitaria (GEVEX), Chile, and the Polson Institute Research Working Group Decolonizing and Reimagining Higher Education.
