Mary taught at the secondary level in the public school system in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, for 32 years.
She started teaching online in 2002 and joined Purdue Global (formerly Kaplan University) in 2010. She
is currently a full-time faculty member and Course Lead for Statistics at Purdue Global, teaching both
undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics, designing course curricula, and assisting other
departments with research. Mary completed her Ph.D. at the University of Georgia in 2012 with her
research on teaching probability using simulations. She maintains her interest in statistics education and
conducting research to improve the quality of the educational experience.
