Anita Foust has been a community advocate for over forty years organizing community members to advocate for themselves. A few of the activities included creating flyers, videotaping meetings, airing those meetings on the community cable station, and accompanying people to support them in meetings. She established an after-school program out of her home in her community to help neighborhood children with their homework and to provide dinner, even sometimes on the weekends. She has volunteered with many organizations and co-founded the Anderson Community Group (ACE) in 2020 to combat the proposed siting of an asphalt plant in the Anderson Community. She serves as the co-leader of ACE with Rev. Bryon Shoffner to protect Anderson residents from pollutants.
