Ana’s research focus is transracial adoptee and foster youth racial identity formation and mental health outcomes. The lens through which Ana approaches her work is anti-racism and anti-colonialism, aiming to create space for counter-narratives from historically and presently silenced voices. Ana currently works at UW-Milwaukee in the Center for Student Experience and Talent’s Community Engagement and Experiential Learning Office as a program manager for experiential learning. Ana holds that the majority of learning occurs outside of the classroom and exists on a continuum beginning in infancy. Ana’s broad definition of learning and education supports a trauma-informed approach to community engagement and partnerships.
