Jean Strait is the Executive Director of the Foundation for the Advancement of Culture and Education (FACE) in St. Paul, Minnesota (www.faceeducation.org). Jean directs professional development, community problem solving and K-12 schools and colleges and universities issues of diversity and student development. In addition, Jean teaches in St. Paul Public Schools working with Special Education at E-Stem Middle School. She was a faculty member at Hamline University and has thirty years of experience training teachers using service-learning. Jean has been awarded The International Journal of Service-Learning In Teacher Education Lifetime Achievement Award, the Hamline University Ruth Grimes Professor Lifetime Achievement Award, The International Conference of Service-Learning in Teacher Education Rahima Wade Outstanding Individual Educator, The Hedgman Center for Social Justice and Diversity-Outstanding Faculty Award, and The President’s Award Minnesota Campus Compact. As a scholar Jean has contributed many publications and presentations to the field, most notably for eService-Learning.
